Cardiac rehabilitation isn't appropriate for everyone, even if you have one of these conditions. Your healthcare team will thoroughly evaluate your health to make sure you're ready to start a cardiac rehabilitation program.
What is cardiac rehabilitation?
Cardiac Rehab is a customized educational and exercise program to assist you in maintaining a healthier heart. The goals of cardiac rehab are to help you regain your strength after a cardiac event, prevent your condition from becoming worse, and reduce your risks of future heart problems. A referral by your physician is required. The Phase II Program consists of exercise sessions 3 times a week for 12 weeks, or a total of 36 visits. Lincoln County Medical Center offers state of the art monitoring equipment with the personalized care.
The 3 components of phase II:

1. Medical Evaluation
The Cardiac Rehab Team evaluates your health history and will assess your physical abilities, medical limitations and other conditions that might affect your rehab program. The Team will explore what risk factors that you have and tailor a program to fit your individual needs. Your personal physician will be kept up-to-date on your progress throughout the program.

2. PHYSICALactivity / Personal Training
It is important to remain active, even after a cardiac event. Cardiac Rehab improves your cardio-vascular fitness through walking and cycling; strengthening, and resistance exercises increase your muscular fitness and flexibility. Even if you have never exercised before, your Cardiac Rehab Team will take you through a progressive pace that is comfortable for you. Our Physical Therapist will evaluate your physical limitations and follow a plan of care that is individualized for you.

3. MULTIDISCIPLINARY EDUCATION
Risk factor and lifestyle modification are important components of Cardiac Rehab. You will receive tips on healthy habits, such as smoking cessation and weight loss. Our Registered Dietitian will provide guidance about diet, nutrition, and teach you how to make healthier choices to reduce fat, sodium and cholesterol. The Cardiac Rehab Team offers you one-on-one education with ample opportunities to ask questions based on your specific health situation.

Phase III:

Phase III - the maintenance program - begins after completing Phase II or meeting entry criteria. Your exercise program is closely supervised, with education and counseling available.

Phase III is usually NOTcovered by insurance, and patients are charged monthly.
