Who is a candidate for pulmonary rehabilitation? 
A comprehensive pulmonary rehabilitation program may be adapted for any person with chronic respiratory disease. If you aren't sure you are a candidate for pulmonary rehabilitation contact, your physician. 

The Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program at Lincoln County Medical Center is a comprehensive outpatient program designed to help those with a chronic respiratory disease live more active and rewarding lives by:

  • Improving physical endurance and function
  • Decreasing shortness of breath
  • Reducing anxiety
  • Gaining a better understanding of the disease process
    and use of medication 
  • Increasing independence
The Program
When you participate in the Pulmonary Rehabilitation program at Lincoln County Medical Center, you will receive personalized attention from a highly specialized team of health care professionals working together to provide a focused, individualized program just for you. 
Key Components :
  • Multi-disciplinary team assessment monitored exercise sessions two days a week. 
  • Educational sessions covering the disease process,  nutrition, exercise, activities of daily living,  medication and more 
  • Progress reports to referring physicians 
  • Development of a home exercise plan 
  • Development of a pulmonary rehabilitation maintenance program 

Maintenance
Graduates of the Phase II program are eligible for an exclusive ongoing maintenance, exercise and support program. The maintenance program assists graduates in maintaining the higher level of function and overall level of activity achieved through their rehabilitation program.

Referral process
Participants must be referred by a physician. You will remain under the care of your physician while in the program. Ongoing status reports as well as a final report summarizing your progress will be provided. 

Insurance Coverage
Phase II Pulmonary Rehabilitation is usually covered by Medicare and/or supplemental insurance. However, you are encouraged to verify your coverage plan with your particular insurance provider. 


The maintenance program is NOT covered by insurance, and patients are charged monthly. Details can be discussed with the rehabilitation specialist.
